Enhance your tourism business's customer service and local knowledge with this FREE Programme.

An in person training course on Inclusive customer service and local tourism product knowledge  delivered in person at numerous locations around the country, to support staff involved with tourism visitors.  

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a Tourism and Hospitality Professional: Business owners, managers, and frontline staff directly involved in the industry.
  • Or Visitor Experience Supporters: Businesses offering services that enhance the visitor experience, such as Public and private transport (taxi services, drivers, etc.), Equipment and vehicle rentals (holiday, adventure) and event staff and volunteers (festivals, etc.)
  • In short, anyone who contributes to a positive visitor experience in the tourism and hospitality sector can benefit from this program.

IDA Ireland’s Innovate Programme helps companies improve their innovation by giving them a roadmap and assigning an advisor to guide them. This advisor helps implement best practices and utilise tools for generating creative ideas and validating them.  Ultimately, the program aims to make these companies more innovative and successful.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are an existing IDA client company.

Employer Excellence Programme

Drive business growth, employee engagement, and a stronger employer brand through strategic development and people investment

A 3 year strategic business development and people investment programme that supports you to build better employee engagement and performance and strengthen your Employer brand reputation. 

  • Open to all tourism and hospitality businesses in Ireland that either provide a tourist experience or produce a product that caters to domestic and/or international visitors. 

  • Eligible businesses must also have at least five employees.

The Skills for Better Business Online Assessment is a free resource offered by the Irish Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) specifically for small and medium-sized business (SME) owner-managers. It's a self-assessment tool designed to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses in various business competency areas.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are an owner-manager of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Ireland. While others can take it, the focus is on those who lead and manage a team of people within an SME.

The Department of Enterprise's Climate Toolkit for Business is an Irish government initiative designed to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) on their journey to becoming more sustainable and reducing their carbon footprint.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are an SME in Ireland that wants to take a step towards a greener future can find the Climate Toolkit for Business a helpful resource.

National Climate Action Programme

Strategic guidance and planning for tourism businesses to become more sustainable and cut costs.

The National Climate Action Programme is a multi year strategic development and investment programme for Tourism & Hospitality businesses in improving business sustainability while reducing operating costs to the business. 

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a open to established, tax-cleared tourism business (owners/managers) in Ireland with a physical location
  • The business must be demonstrably serving domestic/international visitors
  • The business must be spending €10,000+ annually on energy (excluding transport), and committed to sustainability.

  • Your project complies with relevant EU and national environmental legislation

  • You have been in business for at least 5 years
